The faith centre is extremely far to travel to 5 times a day

It is taking 10 minutes to travel to the faith centre location and 10 minutes to travel back to the library. Also, the faith centre is not open 24 hours which makes it difficult. This is disrupting essential studying time

There are many empty rooms in the library which are often locked.

Many other universities already provide this requirement for example Sheffield Hallam university

It is long overdue, it will not inconvenience anyone but will actually benefit those who need it. It’s been embarrassing to see security staff stopping people from praying in the library.

This is much needed!! It's only a room, for a 5 minute prayer (up to 3-5 times a day) without the need to constantly leave the building... Considering that this idea has been suggested more than twice by different students should be more than suficient evidence for the University/Student Union of its need, and the benefits it would imply to students of any faith or religion who spend a long time in the library and want to have a quick prayer-break while trying to catch up with deadlines and uniwork.

I agree with some of the previous comments, this idea has been suggested every year that I've been here so it definitely shows it's an important matter -also considering how many muslim people that pray are students at the university and use the library, it is a room that would be well used

The library is more than capable of responding to students needs, as previously seen e.g. silent area floor 2, scholars rest, water filters etc. I'm sure they can arrange something, which will not only benefit current students, but all the students who are yet to come.

I think it’s a good idea. Also for people of other religions. I know sometimes I just need to escape and connect with God
