You should be appointing two Academic Reps per course, per year. Two reps are sufficiant for the role, working in pairs means that our reps are as effective as possible.
This should be happening in the first two weeks of October, ready for reps to be trained over the rest of October and November.
You can appoint students by asking who wants to be the two Academic Reps at the beginning or end of a lecture or seminar.
This can happen either by a quick show of hands, an introductory lecture to being a rep by the Students' Union, or an election if you have more than two students.
Ideally, we always reccommend that Academic Reps are elected by their cohort. This is so that the best reps are chosen by their fellow students and will actively represent their issues.
