HSU Fundraising Volunteers
FUNDRAISING

Fundraising is a massive part of what we do here at Huddersfield Students' Union. However, being a charity ourselves, in order to support other charities we need the help of student volunteers!

Fundraising is a great way to have fun with your friends whilst doing something amazing. You can fundraise as part of RAG (Raise & Give) or you can fundraise for another charity of your choice.

Want to find out more? Just come visit the Students' Union and ask for Bethany, your SU Community Officer!

Charity of the Year 2019/20

Applications to be Huddersfield Students’ Union - Charity of the Year 2019-20 have now opened!

If you represent a charity, the process for applying is as follows:

  1. Please type up a description, of no more than 500 words, detailing what your charity does and how we could involve students.
  2. Please send this to volunteering@hud.ac.uk by 3pm on Friday 16th August.

Following this, all applications will be discussed and a shortlist of 5 charities will be decided. We will communicate this shortlist of 5 charities by Friday 30th August.

The shortlist of 5 charities will each have a tube at the entrance to our Students’ Welcome Festival 2019 (WC 23rd Sept) and each student will be given a plastic coin. Students will be asked to vote for their chosen charity by putting their coin in to their chosen charity’s tube.

The charity with the most coins will be chosen as our Charity of the Year 2019-20. We will announce this charity on Monday 30th September.

To raise money for a charity, we need to know about it, please complete the online form (button below) to tell us about your plans so that we can support you and also ensure we conduct the event within the charity law.
