Radio Hud is the University of Huddersfield’s, Student-Led Radio Station. The station broadcasts live online at www.radiohud.com and throughout the entire SU building.
The station plays 80 hours of broadcasting a week from breakfast into the evening, so there’s always time to listen in or get involved.
Since 2010, the station has evolved to become one of the largest societies on campus. Not only is it an enjoyable way to spend your free time, but it also helps those hoping to follow careers in radio, marketing and much more, as anyone is able to start up their own radio show or help take part!
The membership fee for Radio Hud is £25, with this membership you get an entire years membership and access to all of sponsor discounts and offers. You also receive a society hoodie and free entry to the Radio Hud Presents events.
This year we're continuing our £15 membership called 'Socials'. In the previous years, we had a lot of society collab nights out on student night (Wednesday) and people wanted to get involved. So for just £15, you can join us on our social nights out without even being part of the station. This means you'll be entitled to all our perks such as 50% off Revolutions cards & other drink discounts.
The station throws charity events their main charities British Red Cross, Forget Me Not Hospice, Simon of the Streets and Oxjam. The station also throws a range of live events including Radio Hud Presents. Radio Hud Presents brings together national and touring bands to the stage show casing their talents. It's a great way to spend your evening, surrounded by good people and good music.
The society has tripled in size since its creation in 2010 and now offers even more roles in the society such as programmers, producers, marketing, music reviews and more.
So if you’re interested in getting involved or just want to find out more put yourself on our list, we’ll be in contact with more information!
All members can apply for training so they can take part in any area of Radio Hud including getting those ever popular freebies!
Don’t miss out on the fun! This year is going to be the best yet!
