What would you be doing?
The Inspiring Future Leaders programme is looking to recruit enthusiastic and passionate students who, through this programme, will become skilled leaders of the future, and we’ll pay, support and train you to deliver a project alongside your studies here at Huddersfield University. We want to empower our students to make the change they want to see and reach out to those we normally don’t connect with through the academic year.
This programme will give you the chance to try something totally new, ensuring you leave University even more employable than you already are! (It’s a win-win situation really…)
What do you get in return?
As well as numerous free training workshops, as an Inspiring Future Leader, you’d be making student life better through your projects! Huddersfield Students’ Union is run by students, for students and we’re proud to be part of the Living Wage Foundation. We pay our Student Staff £8.45 per hour and last year we paid out around £200,000 to our Student Staff. We’re also a Mindful Employer and working for us gives you access to a 24/7 confidential staff helpline. We’re totally flexible. All of our contracts are zero hours, so if you’ve got a pressing deadline or just want to go home for the weekend you’ve got time!
Don’t just take our word for it, current Inspiring Future Leaders have said:
“I have developed a whole range of skills from: organisational skills, interpersonal skills, time management, experience in planning a full event, communication skills, preparation, negotiation skills and so much more!”
“Being in a paid role provides me with the feeling of responsibility and a sense of duty. It provides incentive and reward which is a nice feeling to have your campaigning work recognised.”
How to apply:
You’ll need to be a current student at the University of Huddersfield for the academic year 2018-19 and able to attend training on the 14th September. Interviews will be held between the 3rd - 5th September.
