We've been working with the University to improve your online learning resources - that's where Brightspace comes in! It's new for this academic year and for those of you that haven't come across it yet, Brightspace gives you access to your learning resources, videos of lectures and reading lists as well as being a place to submit your assignments and find out your grades. If you're a returning student, Brightspace has replaced UniLearn, after a successful trial last year by a few courses with positive feedback from both staff and students. You can find out more about the University's decision to change to Brightspace by heading to hud.ac.uk/brightspace.
Brightspace is easy and intuitive to use, and gives you more control of your learning experience with some useful features such as; push-alerts, a search facility, calendar and bookmarking. You can also read and reply to course or module specific discussions, and you can even monitor your progress within modules. With all these features, you'll never miss a deadline! Sounds easy right? Better still Brightspace is compatible with PCs, Tablets and even has its own mobile app, Pulse, which is available on Google Play and the App store.
All this is part of collaborative efforts the University is making to give you the best student experience on offer across the UK HE sector while making learning more exciting, engaging and fun. You can get more from Brightspace by completing the online training available at hud.ac/brightspace. If you still need to access your UniLearn files you can do so, but only until the end of December. Instructions on how to do this can be found at hud.ac/unilearndownload.
