Make sure you have your say

It’s that time of year when the University is asking for your feedback to help make improvements to your learning experience. Whether you’re a first year or a final year it’s important you have your say to help improve things for everyone.

There are several different ways you can feed-back to the University, here are just a few:

  • HSS – undergraduate non final years
  • NSS – final years

Or if it’s more immediate feedback:

  • Talk to your Academic Rep
  • Chat directly to your Officers

“They always say time changes things, but you actually have to change them yourself.” ― Andy Warhol, The Philosophy of Andy Warhol

HSSHSS non-final year undergraduates complete the HSS now and help raise money for the Laura Crane Youth Cancer Trust

What is the HSS?

The Huddersfield Student Survey is your opportunity as an undergraduate, to help the Uni improve your experience while you're studying here. It’s your chance to tell the University about your course and your student voice helps them to improve the student experience.

The HSS is run by Huddersfield and your feedback is confidential, therefore none of the academic staff in your school will be able to see your individual responses.

Help raise money for The Laura Crane Youth Cancer Trust! To thank you for taking part, the more responses received, the more the Uni will donate to The Laura Crane Youth Cancer Trust! (to a maximum of £750). This was the charity chosen by YOU for us to support this year.

For full terms and conditions, please visit students.hud.ac.uk/surveys/hss/

How can I take part?

The HSS opens on Monday 2nd March and closes on Monday 30th March, if you are eligible, you can take part by:

  • Email, this will come from Hud Surveys HSS@qualtrics-surveys.com
  • Text Message, this will come from HUD-UNI
  • Tablets, Student Ambassadors will be on campus with tablets so you have the opportunity to complete the survey

If you experience any problems whilst trying to complete the survey, or have any questions about the HSS, please contact HSS@hud.ac.uk

NSS

What is the NSS?

The National Student Survey is your opportunity as a final year, to help the Uni improve experiences for future students and may also help prospective students make decisions about studying here. The NSS is national and your feedback is confidential, therefore none of the University staff will be able to see your individual responses.

How can I take part?

The NSS is open until 30th April, if you complete it before the 27th March you will get a £5 voucher that you can spend in the SU Shop or Huddersfood outlets too – nice one! If you are eligible, you can take part by visiting www.thestudentsurvey.com/

Academic Reps

Here for you year-round your Academic Reps help to make more immediate changes related to your academic wellbeing. From getting microwaves and lockers in common rooms to timetable changes. They’re supported by us and work as a link between you and the University to help get things done!

How do I contact my Rep?

If you’re not sure who your Rep is you can find their details on My Hud or you can contact SU Representation

We are elected by you and working to make your student life better. We help make large-scale changes across the University. Some things your we have been working on this year include getting Wednesday afternoons off for BUCS competitors, a PGR Charter to make improvements to PGR student life and improving sustainability on campus.
