To put it simply, Huddersfield Students’ Union (that’s us lot) is a charity based on campus, led by students for students, which exists to make student life better. Although we work closely with the University, we’re a completely independent organisation, so this means we’re 100% focused on your interests, concerns and wellbeing.
Your Students’ Union is a member-led organisation that exists to make student life better for each and every student at the University of Huddersfield. You are our members, so we rely on your involvement and your input to ensure that our work reflects the wishes of the student population at our University.
Whatever takes your fancy – whether it’s joining a Sports Clubs or Society, running a life-changing campaign (or for election!), volunteering in the local community or just having fun at some of our epic events – we’ll be here all year-long to provide you with great services, support and advice on just about everything!
Five students are elected every year to lead your Students’ Union. They are known collectively as the Officer Team, and they spend a lot of time talking to the University to fight on the issues you care about.
There are many ways that we listen to our members, act on your concerns, and put your ideas into action. Each year we elect a team of students to lead and direct our activity and set our campaigning agenda. Every single one of our members is eligible to stand for election – could this be you?
If standing for election isn’t for you but you still want to get involved, don’t worry – the students we elect need to communicate with you on a regular basis to ensure they are representing you effectively. Some of the most important ways that they do this are detailed on their profile pages – just click on the menu to the left to find out more about how you can get involved!
