The Officer team is made up of five officers who are elected to work for you, full-time, for the duration of the academic year, ensuring that the work of the Students’ Union reflects the wishes of the student population at our University. Each officer has set out some of the things that they want to achieve for students in their election manifestos; but they also ensure that they listen to you and make sure your concerns and ideas are addressed throughout the year.
The Student Voice Team consists of five permanent staff who are here to support the Officer team as well as ensure that all students' voices on campus are heard. We work on Student Representation, Students' Union Democracy, Students' Union campaigns and Students' Union Social Policy work.
My role is here to develop our members into future leaders of the Students' Union and beyond as well as overseeing all of our democratic functions. I also take the lead for the Students' Union's Research, Insight and Data work. Previously I have been an elected Education Officer in this Students' Union and then spent a few years working as a Research Analyst in the Market Research sector before coming back to Huddersfield.

As the Democracy and Campaigns Coordinator, I help students make the change they want to see - whether that’s through running for election, submitting ideas, or running campaigns! I help deliver all of our democratic structures, support the Officers with campaigns, and help support the Student Leadership Fund. Before working here, I was an elected Officer for two years at a nearby Students’ Union.

My role is to work with the Student Officers and Advice Centre to turn the issues that you bring to us into campaigns to make a change. My focus is on developing policy on wellbeing and non-academic issues. Following a year as an Officer myself, I have worked and volunteered both in the private and charity sector.
