In Oldham we have a Campus Committee. The Campus Committee is an elected group of current students that are based in Oldham to represent you. They are often your first base of contact if you have a problem, want to change something, start something or just get involved with student life in Oldham. The Committee works closely with the Exec and represents the Oldham Campus at Union & University wide meetings.

There are many ways to be involved. You could stand as an elected member taking the responsibilities of leadership and representation of your course mates. Or just come down, have your say and hear what else is going on.

This sort of opportunity is a great way of boosting your CV and learning new skills that are not connected with your course. So if you’re interested in getting involved all you have to do is find out when and where the next meeting is and come down! Or get in contact with the Students’ Union Office in the Oldham library for a chat to find out more!

Shah Islam - Campus Committee Chair

Hi my name is Shah Islam and I am the Campus Committee Chair. Being part of the Students’ Union means to make sure that students are happy with the service they receive from the Students’ Union. Having the role of Committee Chair I will be working closely with the rest of the officers on the Campus Committee to make sure that we offer the best of the best to all our fellow students. As a current student on campus I know that it can sometimes get difficult with studies and other commitments, but with us guys on hand to help it won’t be a problem.

Steven Ferguson - Representation and Welfare Officer

Hi fresher’s, my name is Steven Ferguson. I am here to help you with your representation and welfare; whilst you are studying at UCO you may encounter some problems or issues in regards to your chosen subject or an external problem that is causing you to have difficulties with your studies. I am here to offer advice or point you in the right direction that will help you to deal with this, all communication is treated with strict confidentiality, and I am here to help in a non-judgemental way. I am 2nd year and studying towards a degree in communities and health studies, anyway good luck in your 1st year and I hope goes smoothly for you.

Nibras Ahmed - Campaigns and Communication Officer

Hello I’m Nibras Ahmed and I am the Campaigns and Communications officer for this campus. I’ll be working with all the other members of the committee and most of all provide help to students. Never be afraid to approach any of us on the Campus Committee as we are very friendly, approachable and always available.
