You may not know this but as a student you are automatically members of Huddersfield Students’ Union, regardless of which campus you are studying on. Your membership was completely free and started automatically when you enrolled. You are also a member of the National Union of Students (NUS) which you can find out more about in this section of the website.
The Students’ Union is run by a group of students, elected by you, that are supported by professional staff. This group is made up of 5 members and is called the Executive Committee (or Exec for short). Each of them has a focus area for representing students in. In Oldham we have a Students’ Union Campus Committee (site committee) which meets up every month to discuss issues relating to YOU as a student. The students that make up this committee are elected from Oldham and by Oldham students! Click the button to see who they are and what they have been up to.
The first and most important role of The Students’ Union is to provide help and support for you, its members, on a wide range issues that you may encounter to ensure you get the best education possible. We have a specialist Advice Centre to help this happen offering free confidential, impartial advice on any problem or query, no matter how big or small.
