Students' Union Elections - Why Should I Care?

The Students' Union elections are one of the most important events of the year, and yet many students do not see the significance of how the students who get elected to lead the SU can have a positive impact on student life. Last year saw a record voter turnout in the elections, but this was still just over 20% of the student population. This session aims to increase understanding of the following areas:

Why we elect our leadership

Why  voter turnout is important

What power do the students we elect actually have?

Why you might want to consider standing in the elections yourself

The next sessions will be taking place prior to the main SU Elections in Feb/Mar 2013. To register your interest please email John Goodwin
