Get involved with the HudStud team

Fancy writing for us? How about taking a chance at creating a “pop-up” section and being its editor? Taking photos? Being an interview correspondent? How about going to gigs/the theatre to do a review? Well now you can!

How to write for us:

- Type up an article (no more than 750 words) in a Word document.
- Don’t mess with the layout, we do all that for you!
- Email it to the appropriate sub-editor. If in doubt, send it to the editor instead!
- If you have an image to go with the piece, attach it separately as a jpeg (making sure its high quality!)
- Any problems, email the editor or pop into the part time office for advice (upstairs in the SU)

You definitely don’t need to be an amazing writer or studying journalism to get involved. Just have the ambition and motivation to put pen to paper and we will do the rest.
If you want to write for us but don’t know where to start, we run regular “lunch with the editor” events where you can chat with us face-to-face to shape ideas. Check out @HudStud on Twitter to find when and where to find us.

If you have an idea for a one-off pop-up section for a future issue and fancy trying out being an editor, why not get in touch? This is a perfect opportunity to get out there, source writers and photographers and look at what goes into laying up the section afterwards to make it a complete package! Apply via email with your name, course, idea and we can work out a time scale to suit you.
