HUSSI is for anyone at Huddersfield University who wants to learn or carry on skiing and snowboarding.

HUSSI set out on weekly trips to the Indoor Snow Slope at Xscape Castleford every Wednesday. We also have two HUGE holidays and events throughout the year with loads of slope time and partying guaranteed!

Wednesday nights we have our club social where we all meet upstairs in the VIP room at Cotton Factory. You can expect one huge messy party with lots of drinking games and banter, with really cheap drink deals ranging from £1 to £2.50 for mixers. After all the drinking we will head either to Camel or Tokyo for a dance and top up 

HUSSI will also be entering national competitions, this will give our members a chance to represent the university and HUSSI. This is also a great opportunity to come along as a spectator and support the team and get involved.

After joining HUSSI you will receive great prices on all gear and clothing from local shops and sponsors and as well as great discounts at cotton factory, revolution ,Tokyo and camel .We also get discount and various take away`s in town which include fasta pasta, malaki`s ,Dixie chicken and flipping burger.

Questions and Answers

What days do you meet and train and how often?

We head to Xscape on Wednesdays for both lessons and recreational sessions

What equipment does a new member need? and how much will this cost to get started?

Not got any equipment no worries you can rent snowboard and skis etc from us or get them provided for you at the destinations which we visit. Its all low cost.

What experience level do i need to join?

From Beginner to expert we cater for all and can quickly get you down the slope with style. There’s a massive mixed bag of skills & experience in HUSSI which means you’ll never have to ride alone.

How do I join?
You can simply click the ‘Join Here’ button at the bottom of this page, just takes a couple of minutes to do and you can pay online or pop into the iZone and pay in house.

What leaders and trainers do you have and how much experience do they have?

Everyone on the committee is very confident on the slope and their experience varies from people who have been snowboarding/ Skiing all the life to people who are relatively new to the sport.
