Who are the Ice Hawks?
Since their inception in 2005, the University of Huddersfield Ice Hawks have offered both veteran players and newcomers alike the opportunity to play ice hockey at a competitive level, whilst also representing their university in national competition. We play in the Northern Tier of the BUIHA and also the National championships every year, most recently placing 3rd overall for 2011.
Who can play?
The short answer is anyone can play! If you're a seasoned veteran or an enthusiastic newcomer and are interested in being a part of the Ice Hawks squad, feel free to contact us or come to one of our training sessions. Our coach is an experienced player from the Czech Republic and will have you improving in no time, ready for that first puck drop of the season!
Where do you play?
Games are played all over the North of England, from Edinburgh to Deeside. Our home Ice is located at Bradford Ice Arena where we hold training every Saturday at 10pm during term-time.
What will I need?
Most equipment for newcomers is provided however you will need to provide your own protective cup and it is recommended you wear a t-shirt and jog pants to wear under the kit.
