The Huddersfield Hawks American Football team are the University of Huddersfield's largest sports team on campus and there is no other sport like it. We see some fifty players or more a year play the sport and be a part of the Hawks history, all bleeding orange and blue on the field week in week out.
Training takes place at Storthes Hall on Tuesday Nights, 8pm till 10pm, and Sundays from 10am till 2pm (see venues)
The league fixtures take place from October through to March, as well as the Varsity match with Bradford once a year which is usually in early April.

The Huddersfield Hawks hold an introduction meeting to induct all potential new players into the sport. They will be meeting outside the Students' Union building at 19:00 on Thursday 22 September.
The tryouts for the Huddersfield Hawks has been announced for 25 September - the Sunday after Freshers' Week - and will take place on the Storthes Hall Astroturf which can be found here. The team would like to invite everyone who fancies trying out the sport to come down.
The day will consist of taster sessions for every position on the field and give all attendees an opportunity to show what they do best.
There will also be demonstrations from the returning players to show the physical side of the sport.
Today the Huddersfield Hawks announced their first 'Old Boys' game, where graduated ex-players will come back to kit up one more time, giving the soon to be newly formed 2011/12 team a run for their money before their season kicks off. The Old Boys game is a tradition in the sport and an opportunity for the experienced ex-players to show Rookie players how the game is played - both physically and mentally.
The game looks to be held on October 22nd, two weeks before the Huddersfield Hawks season kicks off, with the venue to be confirmed. If you want to get involved or come and watch the game, then follow the facebook event for all of the up-to-date details.
The Huddersfield Hawks committee, after a lengthy interview process, have appointed ex-Defensive Co-ordinator Greg Boyland, known to most as 'Coach Sunshine', as their new Head Coach. Coach Boyland has brought with him his old co-coordinator James Kingwell, known to most as 'Coach Pubes', as the Assistant Head Coach aiming to forge the team towards a new, more competitive direction.
