Union Council meets once a month on a Monday, is open to all students and is the place to go if you have an idea about how the union, or any other aspect of university life could be improved. Each year a number of students are elected to serve as Union Councillors and vote on the issues that matter to you, after they have been debated at Council meetings. Any student can present an idea to Union Council, and once the idea has been approved it will be passed to the Executive Committee to implement..

| Feedback timescale | Kelly Aldred (School Rep Art, Design Architecture) raised concerns about the length of time it was taking to get feedback on work in her school. It was established that it was within the 3 week time limit, therefore it was unlikely the the Union could intervene. | Complete |
| Macs without OSX in library | Hali Santamas (Union Councillor) raised a concern that his Course Rep had been unable to resolve this issue. Andy Blunt (Education Officer) to raise this at a meeting with Computing and Library Services next week. | Ongoing |
| Expectations of academic staff when marking work | Laura McIntyre (Union Councillor) reported hearing that academic staff are expected to mark 1000 words in 20 minutes by the university. Andy Blunt (Education Officer) to investigate whether there is any truth in this. | Ongoing |
| Newspaper Policy | Proposed by Suzanne Cachia, but then withdrawn for review after concerns were expressed that it was too restrictive and that the Communications Officer had not yet had the chance to comment on it. Suzanne Cachia to review. | Ongoing |

| Officer Handover Policy | A number of small amendments were proposed to the policy that been submitted by Andy Blunt (Education Officer). The amended policy was passed unanimously. | Complete |
| Equal Opportunities Policy | Hali Santamas (Union Councillor) proposed policy, citing concern that the existing policy had recently lapsed. Matt Christie (President) suggested a small amendment, meaning that responsibility for upholding the policy would fall to the Wellbeing and Equalities Officer.
