Students' Unions
are obviously governed by officers but how the Union functions, what it should and shouldn't do is decided firstly by the constitution and secondly by any policies that are passed.
Policies cannot become 'live' until they have been passed by the Student Governing Council (SGC) but once passed they last for five years.
Anyone can submit a policy, so if there is something you are not happy with and think that the Students' Union should do something about it you can submit a policy to SGC.
All of the Union's current 'live' policies can be found in the the policy document, available as a word document:
The University of Huddersfield Students' Union Policy Document (This document contains all policies passed by the Executive Committee, Student Governing Council and General Meetings) For more information about the policies passed by the Union contact Matt Christie, Union President on su.president@hud.ac.uk also see: Drugs Policy (Procedural Policy)
